A rainy day spent with friends

Our inspiring farmer friends from upstate a couple of hours took time off from their good work to visit us. They helped my husband surprise me with my first bee hive and lots of goodies to go along with it.  They also brought along their favorite items as a gift and some of the sugary goodness from their bees.

Our friends also had lots of funny beekeeping stories to share and also some really exciting news too!

my new queen bee excluder
building frames and supers as a family affair
Honey super  or brood box
Our friend Torai is visiting for his 3 weeks of spring break.   His mother sent along a care package of goodies for the girls. Let the Origami production begin!
After dinner bee hive building  while enjoying great conversation
Lots to make
Our baby girl was very involved
and at age 20 months has officially picked up her first carpentry job
Our bees are set to arrive on April 4th.  How exciting now we just have to learn how not to get stung. Will have my epipen on my person.
