My oldest wrote to the President to encourage him to talk to leaders about protecting elephants which are being heavily poached for their tusks. My younger daughter sent a picture of an elephant she had drawn along with the activist letter sent. We didn't expect a response from the White House but the happy face that came in from mail box was priceless.
Reaching out and making your voice heard when you are a small person is an amazing and gratifying lesson to experience.
