While my 1st grader is not ready for times tables I taught the story and we did manipulatives to demonstrate the story.
After we completed our math block we moved on to our Language Arts block and are doing a tale a week until school is out
week one: The Frog Prince
week two: Briar Rose which she chose to do a Reader for.
Week three: The Golden Goose
